Retail jobs

Retail work is an excellent way to see the economy in action. Good service can make or break a sale, so skilled salespeople will always be in demand, especially in tough times. A retail career doesn't necessarily require professional training, so retail jobs are appropriate for young people just entering the job market. Retail jobs are also good for students, since work is usually in shifts that can be scheduled around one's study schedule. Full or part-time retail jobs provide on-the-job training, and usually someone who starts as a floorwalker can advance to retail managerial positions – from salesperson to store manager, and possibly up through the ranks if the store is part of a corporate chain.
